Emanuel Tovar Andrade was born in 1974 in Guadalajara, Mexico, where he currently lives and works. With a degree in Visual Arts with a focus on Sculpture from the University of Guadalajara, Tovar has worked on various national and international contemporary art projects.

His most notable works include: Ritos Estructurales, an action performed at the Zapopan Art Museum in 2016; Monumento a la Inmaterialidad, an action performed at the Raúl Anguiano Museum, Guadalajara, Mexico in 2014; Sinfonía Triste, an action performed at the Páramo Gallery, Guadalajara, Mexico in 2014; and Miércoles de Ceniza, an action performed in 2013 at the Páramo Gallery, Guadalajara, Mexico.

He co-founded the Clemente Jacqs project, an art laboratory. In 2007, he developed the curatorial project Trinchera, a tribute to José Clemente Orozco through the work of various local, national, and international artists, at the Raúl Anguiano Museum. He participated in the Multidisciplinary Approaches and Experiences in Art forum, Alumni, in the Division of Arts and Humanities, University of Guadalajara, Mexico. He was part of the National System of Art Creators, from 2014 to 2017. He is currently part of the National System of Art Creators, from 2023 to 2026.
