At the core of KinoSaito’s physical space, and its mission, is the theater. A 1500sf vaulted space, the theater is the site of original new works of theater and performance, as well works from Kikuo Saito’s theater oeuvre reimagined by contemporary performance groups. Regular programming includes dance performances, film screenings and concert recitals, along with performances, installations and new media work by artists in residence and visiting artists and companies.

Lin Esser

A long-time fixture of New York’s SOHO visual arts scene, Lin Esser currently enjoys exhibitions of his work in some of the area’s most prestigious galleries. While known for his dark and often whimsical three dimensional works, collectors and enthusiasts of Esser’s work may not know that Lin has a parallel career as musician and composer.
Esser is also no stranger to film and theatre and participates in the ‘Modfest’ 2026 at Vassar University as an invited guest artist and collaborating performer. This event features Hudson West’s ‘Rescoring Richter’ series, an ongoing project directed by film maker and documentarian Dave Davidson.
Over the past five years, KinoSaito has hosted several performances of which Esser has played a major role, most recently as cellist and contributing composer in Between Worlds, a Soli Pierce and Bruce Odland multi medium exhibition event earlier in 2025. Now, Lin once again reached out to KinoSaito audiences, as cellist and composer.
