At the core of KinoSaito’s physical space, and its mission, is the theater. A 1500sf vaulted space, the theater is the site of original new works of theater and performance, as well works from Kikuo Saito’s theater oeuvre reimagined by contemporary performance groups. Regular programming includes dance performances, film screenings and concert recitals, along with performances, installations and new media work by artists in residence and visiting artists and companies.

THEATER GALLERY

A Jeff Kane & John Watts Duo

14 Jun. 2026 | 4pm

A century ago, an extraordinary body of music was created—perhaps more accurately, improvised—by the spiritual master G. I. Gurdjieff and the Russian composer Thomas de Hartmann at the Château du Prieuré in Fontainebleau, France.

These pieces emerged within the context of a deeply personal transmission: a teaching Gurdjieff offered to his pupils, aimed at awakening individuals from their habitual state of sleep.

This afternoon for the 1st time at KinoSaito, Jeff and John continue their exploration of this music and invite you the listener to explore with us. We must thank all who have come before us for planting the seed of exploration of what we all will take part in.

This performance was a part of 2026 Spring Exhibitions Closing Party.
