Happy birthday to us! KinoSaito is turning 5, and to celebrate we have an afternoon full of events to support our current exhibition. Be sure to buy your tickets in advance.
KinoSaito is a five-minute drive from the Peekskill Metro-North station, which is one hour from Grand Central; shuttles between the Peekskill station and KinoSaito will be available during the celebration on September 19th, from 3–7pm.

Completion of our Helen Frankenthaler Climate Initiative Grant
We are thrilled to announce the completion of our Achieving Decarbonization project and the successful installation of high-efficiency HVAC and solar panels in and on our annex gym building. KinoSaito is commited to an environmentally-thoughtful approach to sustainability and development. This equipment complements existing solar panels on our School facility and ensures that we will remain a net-zero organization. We sought these improvements because our community programming has evolved and expanded exponentially, allowing us to develop sustainably while respecting our environment.
This project was generously supported by the Helen Frankenthaler Foundation as part of the Frankenthaler Climate Initiative. Please join us for a toast at our Anniversary Party and hear about what’s next!

Garden Party
Enjoy the last KinoSaito Garden Party of the summer with local food, complimentary drinks, and a tasting from Primo Aperitivo. Food will be served at 5 PM.
Primo Aperitivo, a natural, botanical grapefruit aperitivo from Mexico. It is made with 100% natural and sustainably sourced ingredients including citrus (grapefruit and orange), botanicals (hibiscus, cardamom, cinnamon stick, castile rose, rosemary, spearmint, guajillo chili, cocoa beans, star anise, allspice, lemon verbena, orange blossom, turmeric, earl grey), and roots (rhubarb and gentian root). It is sweetened with agave nectar and colored with purple sweet potato, with an alcohol content of 18% Alc. By Vol. (36 PROOF).
The production process involves a seven-day maceration of citrus fruits and botanicals in a corn-based spirit, followed by sweetening with agave nectar and coloring. Primo Aperitivo is handmade with local raw materials in Mexico City by Archipiélago Spirits.
Tasting notes describe natural flavors of citrus and sweet hibiscus with a minty finish, being fruity, herbal, and refreshing. A suggested serve is the Primo Spritz, which includes Primo Aperitivo, grapefruit juice, sparkling water, sparkling wine, a pinch of salt, and a grapefruit slice.

Naama Tsabar and Kristin Mueller: Untitled (Double Face)
Amidst these turbulent times Tsabar and Mueller came together at KinoSaito to workshop a new performance on Tsabar’s sculpture Untitled (Double Face) - a single guitar that has two necks and requires the performers to lean on each other, negotiating movement and sound, while playing.
This work is a place for two separate and distinct bodies to exist, to be equal. A place for negotiating, for acknowledging each other, for moving in and through conflict and beauty, for creating together.
The program will include the long running performance Untitled (Double Face), 2014 and the debut of the performance developed at KinoSaito with the support of NYSCA.
